NEWTONMORE

The Heart of Scotland

The friendly Highland village at the
gateway to Cairngorms National Park.

Walking

walkingBoth in the immediate area and further afield there is also a whole host of very fine, lower level walks, forest trails and short walks, including the 6-mile Wildcat Trail around the village itself, which can be walked as a complete circuit or in sections, to suit you.

The Badenoch Way runs nearby and is soon to be extended to the village, if all goes according to plan. The spectacular Corrieyairack Pass is just a short drive away and the more challenging Speyside Way starts (or finishes if you prefer) just 20 minutes up the road in Aviemore.

Most accommodation providers are more than happy to provide you with maps, routes and guidance.
