While you are here, you can walk up a peaceful Highland glen or one of Scotland's Munros. You can canoe, mountain bike, horse-ride or carriage drive nearby and either cycle or stroll on Cairngorm's Trails. If you prefer, there's golf or fishing by the renowned River Spey and skiing on Cairngorm Mountain or near Fort William. You can also visit our Highland Folk Museum, the Highland Wildlife Park, Monarch of the Glen locations; explore the magnificent Cairngorm National Park, discover Scotland's Highland history and much, much more. Newtonmore offers you an excellent selection of Scotland's finest, friendliest places to stay and great places to sample Scotland's fine food, excellent home cooking, locally brewed Real Ales or Speyside Highland Malts. We have our own Highland Games and Scottish Pipe band and we're home to Shinty, a game played only in the Highlands of Scotland. There's our own petrol station, our Post Office, two well-stocked mini-markets, an excellent hairdressers and shops offering highland wear, crafts, gifts, souvenirs, clothing and electricals too.
