Newtonmore village lies close to the River Spey, with the Munro 'A Cailleach' in the background. This view, looking across the Golf Course also shows the the wooded hill known as 'The Craggan' which is an easy walk for almost everyone, giving superb views over the village to the Cairngorm mountains beyond. picture - looking across the golf course towards Newtonmore and A'Cailleach

A view at the south end of the village, near the Clan Macpherson Museum, where the history of the Clan and the area can be explored. On the right is one of Newtonmore's smaller hotels - The Glen - where a generously proportioned bar meal can be purloined for a most reasonable price.

In the centre of the village is the Newtonmore Craft Centre and Garden Cafe, which is also home to Newtonmore's Tourist Information Office and the gallery section is the working studio of David Fallows, who paints the watercolours used as Molly's (Susan Hampshire) in Monarch of the Glen.
