Stunning autumn light catches the trees by the side of The Eilan, the ground where Newtonmore's famous shinty team play this most unique of Highland Sports.

Autumn comes to the gardens at the War Memorial in the centre of the village, where tress and shrubs turn shades of red as if in mute remembrance of the men of the village who fell in defence of their country.

The natural stone walling used in landscaping the gardens is reflected on the other side of the road in the newly refurbished village square.

Up on the Strone - a looping narrow road above the village and part of the crofting lands, winter creates its own spectacular palette of colour.
