Glen Banchor is a peaceful and beautiful place less than a mile from the village centre. Almost a different planet, yet that welcome Cuppa after a stroll is only minutes away. picture - glen banchor and the river calder

Creag Dhu and The Luib (meaning a bend in the river), Glen Banchor.

Creag Dhu dominates the scene in Newtonmore and provides splendid hill walking without too much effort!

At the end of the public road up Glen Banchor is the Shepherd's Bridge - a peaceful spot where the burn runs below the bridge and down to the River Calder. The bridge has featured many times - usually with a land rover crossing it, in Monarch of the Glen, as part of the Glen Bogle estate.
