Glen Banchor is a peaceful and beautiful place less than a mile
from the village centre. Almost a different planet, yet that welcome Cuppa
after a stroll is only minutes away. |

Creag
Dhu and
The Luib (meaning a bend in the river), Glen Banchor.
Creag Dhu dominates the scene in
Newtonmore and provides splendid hill walking without too much effort! |
|
At the end of the public road up
Glen Banchor is the Shepherd's
Bridge - a peaceful spot where the
burn runs below the bridge and down
to the River Calder. The bridge has
featured many times - usually with a
land rover crossing it, in Monarch
of the Glen, as part of the Glen
Bogle estate.
