The Wildcat Centre provides information on The Wildcat Trail, The Wildcat Experience ~ Newtonmore and other attractions in the village, as well as walking in general.

Winter opening hours - Friday, Saturday and Monday mornings, 9:30-12:30. We have arranged for visitors to be able to buy a Wildcat Trail Brochure or Wildcat Experience TrackPack  at the Post Office when the Centre is closed.

The Wildcat Trail Brochure

A fully illustrated brochure describing the 10km Wildcat Trail in detail as well as 10 other walks with Newtonmore as a starting point.

The Wildcat Experience ~ Newtonmore TrackPack 

A showerproof shoulder bag with all you need to set out on a quest to find all the painted wildcats sited round the village. 

It also sells Ordnance Survey Maps, Compasses, Step Counters, T-shirts, belt bags, pens, pencils and badges 

The Centre also provides an up-to-date weather report.

The Millenium Book of Newtonmore

A  photographic & handwritten record of the people of Newtonmore at the turn of the 21st century. 

Everyone in the village was given the chance to take part by providing a photo of themselves and writing a bit about themselves and their lives.

The result is a fascinating record of a Highland community in 1999.  

The book is beautifully bound in three volumes which are kept in a specially commissioned cabinet in the Wildcat Centre

The Wildcat Centre is a community venture set up and managed by the Newtonmore Community Woodland & Development Trust, a limited company registered in Scotland as a charity. Any surplus created by sales in the Wildcat Centre is used for the maintenance of The Centre, The Wildcat Trail & The Wildcat Experience ~ Newtonmore
