Just a 15 minute drive south from us is Dalwhinnie Distillery. Open year round; with shorter hours in the winter, it's a great chance for you to find out all about the delicate process, love and care that goes into distilling "The Water of Life".

A little further afield you can spend a full day exploring The Speyside Whisky Trail, with its excellent selection of distilleries. Another thing you shouldn't miss is a tour round The Speyside Cooperage - watching the craftsmen hand making the oak casks in the centuries old traditional way.

You might also want to pop in to the area's own micro-brewery, The Cairngorm Brewery, an enlightening trip, just up the road in Aviemore.
