Craigellachie House, at the south end of the village, next to Main's Hotel, is reckoned to be the oldest house still in existence in Newtonmore.

The house has also been a Chemist's  a Cafe, and a Bed and Breakfast establishment and is now a private house. As with many of the older buildings, little has really changed over the years and the similarities are quite striking.
