Scarves, Bags and Wood Engravings - handmade in Newtonmore.

I make distinctive felted silk scarves, textile bags and wood engraving cards. Each scarf and bag is totally unique, so makes a special present, or a pleasing gift for yourself.

The scarves are made from 100% silk chiffon, or ponge silk with pure, soft merino wool felted on to the fabric to make lovely mixed colours and crinkly textures. I dye some of the scarves using natural materials like lichen, collected on walks round the village - giving gorgeous subtle colours.

The shoulder bags are made from tweed or strong cotton, featuring knitted or felted panels, fully lined with contrasting (often jazzy) fabric. Again each bag is totally unique - I don't like making the same colour scheme twice.

My cards are handprinted from wood engravings of local plants, such as birch, oak, fern and hawthorn, as well as a fiddle design. They are very versatile - great for birthday cards and thank you notes.
