Squirrel Project

As part of our aim to help the endangered red squirrel survive here in Newtonmore we are undertaking a survey  and need your help.

Visitor_081010We wish to record sightings of squirrels both alive & dead in Newtonmore, especially if killed on a road, so we can get a better picture of their numbers, habits and possible problems they may encounter here.

The details required are:

  • Date & time of sighting
  • Where sighted
  • Colour of tail

There are now squirrel bridges in place in Newtonmore.  We now just need to see the squirrels using them so if anyone sees a squirrel on a bridge could they please let me know (or put on Squirrel Facebook page) - getting a picture of a squirrel on a walkway would be great also and upload to Facebook page if possible.

Squirrel_5_051008Sightings should be reported to:  Judith Houghton, Community Councillor
