We are delighted to share that, with the Coronavirus Lockdown Rules being relaxed to allow travelling more than 5 miles, Eric Dodd, NAP representative and Dewi Owens, photographer were able to visit our chosen Designer, Stuart Murdoch - Murdoch Sculpture (sculpture.scot) in Ballindalloch.
Stuart has been researching, designing, creating and carving some of the stone and will be progressing to the wooden panels shortly.
As you can see from the photos Stuart’s outdoor space is an excellent studio to view his awe-inspiring work. We are thrilled about the progress and the character, nature of the Artwork which will symbolise Newtonmore.
Efforts continue with the renewal, creation and design of panels with details on Newtonmore, NAP, Speyside Way, Cairngorms National Park, Shinty and History of Newtonmore.
We are starting to plan the installation stage of the project in adherence with Health and Safety protocols with help from cdmm (inverness) to undertake this work. Construction is aimed for September 2020 with the launch scheduled for October/November when the village can celebrate their community creation and we can give thanks to our many considerate supporters.
