BANKING. Some banking facilities are available at the Post Office for Alliance & Leicester, Bank of Scotland, Bank of Ireland, Barclays, Cahoot, Clydesdale, Co-operative, First Direct, Halifax, Lloyds TSB and Smile. The Royal Bank of Scotland Mobile Bank visits the village on Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays, parking in the Car Park opposite the Balavil Hotel, 11.15 to 12.00 noon. There is a Bank of Scotland Cash Machine at the Village Hall.

BUSINESS ASSOCIATION. Meets in the Lesser Village Hall at 7.30 pm on 2nd Monday each month, February to December.  Read more.

CHIROPODISTS. There is an NHS Clinic at Aviemore Health Centre. 01479 810075.

COMMUNITY TRANSPORT. The 'Where 2 Today' project operates Community Transport throughout Badenoch and Strathspey. Door-to-door transport is available for people by means of a car scheme; using volunteer drivers in their own cars, a 7-seater accessible vehicle and a 14-seater accessible vehicle. Group hire of vehicles is also available evenings and weekends. The 14-seat accessible minibus operates 3 days per week on registered routes. On Tuesdays and Thursdays between Aviemore and Laggan, through Newtonmore, Kingussie and Kincraig, and on Wednesdays between Aviemore and Nethybridge. People holding a National Concessionary entitlement card, or 'Plus One' are able to travel free. The Charity also loans electric scooters, and manual wheelchairs.

DENTISTS. The nearest Dentists are Aviemore & Kingussie Dental Practice, Gynack Street, Kingussie. 01540 661280. For NHS Emergency Dental Treatment contact: 0845 644 2271.

DOCTORS. The nearest local surgery is in Kingussie - Ardvonie Car Park, Gynack Road, Kingussie. 01540 661233.

EARLY CLOSING. The Post Office closes at 12.30 on Wednesdays and at 1.00 pm on Saturdays.

NEWSPAPERS. The local weekly newspaper, The Strathspey & Badenoch Herald (The Strathy) is published every Wednesday, with copies available from the Co-op and the Garage. Daily and Weekend papers and other periodicals are available at the Garage & the Co-op.

POLICE. Ther nearest Police Station is in Aviemore 01479 810222.

REFUSE COLLECTION - The schedules for refuse bin collection and re-cycling bin collection are available from the Council Service Point - 01540 664502. There is a recycling point for glass, cans and newspapers in the car park behind Blasta Restaurant. Other materials for re-cycling are handled at the recycling centre, Market Lane, Kingussie - open Saturday and Sunday, 9.00am to 3.00pm. For other and larger items, the local Landfill Site is at Granish just north of Aviemore.

VILLAGE HALL. The Village Hall has two sections in the same building - the Main Hall and, to the rear, the Lesser Hall.The hall is host to many activities and provides lets for indoor bowling, playgroup, drama group, dances, sales of work and many other events.
