Some banking facilities are available at the Post Office for Alliance & Leicester, Bank of Scotland, Bank of Ireland, Barclays, Cahoot, Clydesdale, Co-operative, First Direct, Halifax, Lloyds TSB and Smile. The Royal Bank of Scotland Mobile Bank visits the village on Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays, parking in the Car Park opposite the Balavil Hotel, 11.15 to 12.00 noon. The local weekly newspaper, The Strathspey & Badenoch Herald (The Strathy) is published every Wednesday, with copies available from the Co-op and the Garage. REFUSE COLLECTION - The schedules for refuse bin collection and re-cycling bin collection are available from the Council Service Point - 01540 664502. There is a recycling point for glass, cans and newspapers in the car park behind Blasta Restaurant. Other materials for re-cycling are handled at the recycling centre, Market Lane, Kingussie - open Saturday and Sunday, 9.00am to 3.00pm. The Village Hall has two sections in the same building - the Main Hall and, to the rear, the Lesser Hall. The hall is host to many activities and provides lets for indoor bowling, playgroup, drama group, dances, sales of work and many other events. The bookings list can be consulted at the Post Office.
