The village is a thriving community with a wide variety of clubs, societies and associations, catering for lots of hobbies and interests. BADMINTON CLUB. Meets in the Primary School on Wednesdays, from October to April during school term times. 7.00 to 8.00pm, up to S1. 8.00 to 9.00pm, S2 and seniors. Contact: Andy Courts - 01540 670049. BOWLING CLUB. Situated overlooking the golf course, the Bowling Club is open all week, has Club competitions on Wednesday and Friday evenings and competes in the District League.. The clubhouse & playing fields at the Eilan are home to his famous and successful club. Two teams play in the National Leagues and 3 other teams cater for all ages from primary school upwards. NEWTONMORE COMMUNITY WOODLAND DEVELOPMENT TRUST. The Community Woodland Development Trust was set up to create and maintain woodland around the village for the benefit of the community. The Trust then decided to link the woodland areas with an orbital path circumnavigating the village, the Wildcat Trail. It operates the Wildcat Centre information office next to the Village Hall and, in 2010, created the popular Wildcat Experience to raise awareness of the Scottish wildcat.
NEWTONMORE HIGHLAND GAMES COMMITTEE. Our annual traditional Highland Games are held on the Eilan, at the south end of the village, on the 1st Saturday in August. The Games coincide with the Clan MacPherson Rally and another special feature is the Hill Race up Craigdhu. The Village Hall has two sections in the same building - the Main Hall and, to the rear, the Lesser Hall. The hall is host to many activities and provides lets for indoor bowling, playgroup, drama group, dances, sales of work and many other events. The bookings list can be consulted at the Post Office.
