Location
Larick House is a detached house situated close to the centre of Newtonmore on the quiet Golf Course Road, surrounded by mature trees, adjacent to the village loch and is a 9 iron from the golf course!! The house overlooks tennis courts and the bowling green, and is a 2 minute walk from the village amenities including a selection of local shops and welcoming pubs, restaurants and day-time cafes. A variety of establishments can be recommended for lunches or dinners.

To find us by road from the North or South turn off the A9 for Newtonmore. Larick House B&B is the 2nd premises on the left along Golf Course Road opposite the Balavil Hotel and Waltzing Waters. Collection from Newtonmore or Kingussie train stations can be arranged and bus stops are within walking distance.
The House
Larick House is a comfortable, spacious premises set in its own grounds with plenty of off road private parking. It was built in the late ‘90s and enjoys modern features but set in a traditional manner. The house name, ‘Larick’, is old Scots for ‘Larch’.

The accommodation, on the ground floor, has one Double and one Twin both with en suite shower rooms, at £25-£30 per person per night, and one Double with private facilities on the first floor at £22.50-£27.50 per person per night.

Each room is equipped with a hairdryer, toiletries, has individually controlled radiators and offers hospitality trays. The TV Lounge is cosy with an oil fired stove. For quieter moments we have daily newspapers and a wide selection of books, magazines and games. For Day trips, maps, leaflets and brochures of local attractions are available. The Breakfast dining area has patio doors overlooking a large garden that is frequented by red squirrels, birds and other wildlife. Hearty breakfasts can be chosen from a wide menu, with vegetarian options too, if ordered the night before. All dietary requests can be arranged and Packed lunches ordered. Larick House is a non-smoking establishment. Pets are welcomed by arrangement, but please do not forget his or her blanket or basket. Secure storage is available for bicycles, golf clubs, ski gear and other sporting equipment. There is disabled access to the property and ground floor bedrooms.

Newtonmore, the Area & Beyond!
Newtonmore is situated in the Cairngorms National Park and is an excellent central base for touring the Highlands. For the active there is just about every sporting activity available in the area. There are forest tracks for mountain biking or walking, mountaineering and climbing. If skiing or boarding is a passion there are 2 ski areas, Cairngorm & Nevis Range close by, plus canoeing, sailing, trout & salmon fishing on the surrounding rivers & lochs. Horse riding, pony trekking, shooting and 4x4 driving are also options. Across the road there are 3 outdoor tennis courts and a bowling green. Golfers can play a different local course every day of the week, beginning with the 18 hole course in the village. Guests can enjoy a swim in the Balavil Hotel pool, a stones throw away from Larick House.

Newtonmore is in the heart of “Monarch of the Glen country” since much of the popular BBC drama was filmed in the village and surrounding area. There are a host of visitor attractions, with Waltzing Waters close by, the Highland Folk Museum and the Clan Macpherson Museum all in the village. Nearby there are the Highland Wildlife Park and forest adventure parks, many museums, Highland estates, malt whisky distilleries, steam and funicular railway and even sheepdog demonstrations. You could also visit Ruthven Barracks, the Cairngorm Reindeer Herd, the Heather or Osprey Centres. Newtonmore is also in easy reach of many castles, historic sites and day trips can be planned using reference books and maps available in the B&B.
