Jean Noble

Jean Noble is a painter and art tutor, living in Newtonmore. Her art has always been a mixture of realism and imagination. Recently, trees have provided a theme which lets her combine a love of nature, with an imaginative insight into visual analogies and recurring patterns. Some of her oil paintings focus on the rhythms of growth of gnarled trees and their relationship to the changing colours in the Highland landscape; in others, images drawn from trees reflect spiritual beliefs.
