HAFLINGER PONY TREKKING CENTRE

LAGGAN, by NEWTONMORE

Introducing the Haflinger Pony

The Haflinger is a relatively new breed in this country, but it has a long history on the continent. In the South Tyrol district of Austria, where it originated, it derived its name from the village of Hafling. As an all round animal, it has no equal. It is a very attractive looking horse, always chestnut in colour, with flaxen mane and tail. Its quiet nature compliments the sturdy sure footedness you would expect of a mountain breed.

Pony trekking has become a wonderful way of spending holidays and some of the people who want to do this are complete beginners, many of them no longer young! They can go with confidence on a Haflinger as it will carry the most inexperienced rider with no objections.
