“Come to stay with us at Crubenbeg House and you can look forward to a relaxed, informal & friendly stay with all the comforts, refinements & facilities you’d expect from a 4-star. That’s a promise.”

Built in 1989, in traditional style, where 2 farmhouses had stood for 200 years, Crubenbeg House is set in a stand of Scots Pines at the foot of Cruben Beag Hill. It is a delightful, peaceful location with stunning views from every guest room across Glen Truim to the range of hills between Glen Tromie and us.

A 3 or 4 minutes walk down our drive takes you to a wee stone bridge from which you can admire the Falls of Truim. Here the River Truim gushes its way through a series of narrow gullies before settling down to meander along the valley bottom for a couple of miles to its confluence with the Spey.

You’ll find us 3 miles south of the picturesque village of Newtonmore and just 2 mins off the A9, making it easy for you to explore this outstanding area. Monarch of the Glen Country is on our doorstep, as are the superb Highland Folk Museum, 2 excellent golf courses and the new Mountain Bike Centre at Laggan.

Close at hand is everything that The Cairngorms National Park has to offer –mountains, heather moors, forests & estates, rivers & peaceful glens, the abundant wildlife, walking, climbing, cycling & of course, skiing. Also in easy reach are Whisky Distilleries, the RSPB Osprey Centre, horse riding, watersports & off-roading to name but a few other activities.

What We Have To Offer.

Whether you prefer a cosy double bed, a super-king, twin beds or our fabulous King-size 4-Poster, each spacious bedroom is individually decorated, very comfortably furnished & is equipped with everything you need to relax. 3 of our rooms have luxury en-suites (2 with bath & shower), the other has private facilities just a short step across the landing.

One of our rooms is on the ground floor and, whilst offering the same luxury accommodation as our other rooms, both bedroom & en-suite have been planned to meet the specific needs of guests with disabilities. There’s also a dedicated parking space right outside, ramped access to the private entrance and a level route via an internal door to the rest of the house.

After a good night’s sleep, you’ll join our other guests round the antique dining table for breakfast. In addition to the juices & cereals, there’s the infamous “Crubenbeg” Porridge, fresh fruit, yoghurt, ham & cheese, kippers or, of course, a cooked breakfast with our own free-range eggs, George Gow’s local sausages, haggis & black pud & Irene’s home baked bread.

Our Guest Lounge is really splendid with lots of comfy seats from a large, sumptuous, traditional 3-piece suite to an equally accommodating Edwardian Parlour group. With its open fire, this is the perfect place to put your feet up, to read, to chat, to write your postcards or daily diary or simply to relax & doze. The views – morning and evening - are to die for. You’ll also be pleased to know that we are able to serve you a glass or two from our selection of wines, spirits, malts & local beers.

We have a drying room, ample secure storage for bikes & equipment and plenty of parking too.

Lastly we and Rajah our Saluki, welcome well-behaved dogs. We should, however, point out that we offer no facilities, in either the house or the grounds, for guests who wish to smoke.

How much does all this cost?

Not as much as you might think!

Our en-suite B&B tariff runs from £27.50 in low season to £32.50 in the summer, the 4-Poster from £30.00 to £35.00 and the double with private facilities from £25.00 to £29.50. All prices are per person, per night.
