  • OFFERS
    Transport, using volunteer drivers in their own cars
  •  AIMS
    To help those who would otherwise be unable to make  use of health and social facilities
  • WE HELP
    Members of the community who are unable, for whatever  reason, to access public transport or have no transport of  their own. 
    (If you are in the habit of using taxis, public transport or hospital transport, then you must continue to do so.)
  • ORGANISERS
    The Scheme is run by the Badenoch & Strathspey  Transport Company.
    All volunteer drivers are vetted and approved by the Transport Company.
  • CHARGES
    20 pence per mile per car, it is quite acceptable to share cars. (Min. charge £1.50). There are no restrictions in the purpose of your journey or destination as long as a driver can be found.  Advance notice of journeys is advisable to ensure success in finding suitable drivers.

    9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday - Friday but the scheme can be used at any time.

  • USED BY
    The car scheme is available to people living throughout Badenoch & Strathspey with the exception of Aviemore & Vicinity.
  • SPONSORS
    The car scheme is funded by Scottish Executive under the Rural Community Transport Initiative, Cairngorm Partnership, the Church of Scotland, the Highland Council, The Health Board, MBSE and Leader II.
